Gold Country Lions Club Calendar Project
What You Can Do To Help
Calendars were produced by Grass Valley Gold Country Lions Club. We thank the
House of Print and Copy, Grass Valley, CA for donating the design and layout and
Chico Enterprise for donating pictures.
The Town of Paradise and the adjoining towns of Magalia and Concow, small communities east of the City of Chico nestled in the foothills in northern California, were virtually wiped out by a wildfire that started on November 8, 2018. This fire was the most devastating wildfire in California history. Tens of thousands of people fled for their lives and there are at least 86 individuals that perished. In total, 153,336 acres were consumed by the fire with almost 14,000 residences and over 500 businesses destroyed. The past decade and beyond has demonstrated that wildland fire knows no boundaries. Any of our homes, neighborhoods, businesses and communities can be similarly affected by a similar apocalyptic disaster.
As we pray for those that lost their lives, we have turned our attention to those who survived and are suffering. Our hearts go out to them as we ponder how we might, somehow, do something/anything that might soften their heartache and loss. You, too, have similar feelings as evidenced by your purchase of this calendar. We thank you for your donation and you can be assured that the proceeds from these calendar sales will end up helping these survivors. Let’s all share in the dream of rebuilding these devastated communities and help the fire victims as they take the long painful steps to re-establish their lives.
As Lions we thank you for your donation, and you can be assured that the proceeds from the calendar sales will help these survivors. In addition, please consider making a donation to any of the following trusted organizations:
