2019 Paradise is not Lost Calendar
Proceeds to help the victims of the Butte County Camp Fire
The Gold Country Lions Club of Grass Valley, together with approximately 70 Lions clubs in northern California, joins the rest of the country mourning the losses suffered in the November, 2018, Camp Fire. This fire almost completely wiped out the Town of Paradise, along with the neighboring communities of Magalia and Concow, east of Chico in northern California. The past decade and beyond has demonstrated that catastrophic wildland fire knows no boundaries. Any of our homes, neighborhoods, businesses and communities in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada region and beyond can be affected by a similar apocalyptic disaster.
The Grass Valley Gold Country Lions have prepared a calendar, “Paradise is not Lost,” and is available locally for purchase starting the week of January 14, 2019. We hope that the sales from the calendar will generate another source of funds to support the displaced families and businesses in this devastated area.
While the cover shows some of the devastation and loss caused by this catastrophic fire, the main focus is reflecting on what the Paradise area was and what it can be again. The calendar reinforces that there is always hope that will rise from the ashes. PARADISE IS NOT LOST, and we want to do our part as Lions to help the survivors recover. The purchase of a calendar will remind you of your donation throughout the year and help us all to remember that the healing and recovery for the impacted families could last a life time. Proceeds will go directly to aid those affected by the fire.
Calendars will be available for a $20.00 donation at the following western Nevada County outlets:
